Sad News
5/11/2009

Sad News.

We are sorry to announce that we've had to push back the up-coming UK tour dates for a second time.

Tom's Mum passed away on Monday after a long struggle against cancer. She took a turn for the worse a few weeks ago (which is why we postponed the UK dates initially), stabilised briefly, then went back into hospital last week whilst we were in Germany. Tom took the decision to fly back then and was consequently able to be with her until the end. We were all very close to Gill throughout our lives and although we knew it had to happen at some point, we are still devastated by the loss.

The show will go on though, so please keep hold of your tickets! We promise we will give you a tour worthy of your patience. The re-re-scheduled dates will be up as soon as possible.

Thanks and best wishes,

Henry Rumble

We've had a brilliant festival season this year - thank you to everyone who has come to see us. Amazingly, it's almost over already - just Reading and Leeds to go! If you can't make either of them, we've got a couple of warm-up shows lined up beforehand: The Flower Pot in London on Thursday 27th, and Square in Harlow on Friday 28th.

In the mean time, we're going to be over in New York doing two shows. The first is a trendy fashion launch thing at Pier 61 on Thursday 20th. The second, on Saturday 22nd is at a night called Fixed at The Tribeca Grand, where we will be playing alongside The (brilliant) Drums. You can hear them at myspace.com/thedrumsforever. Lovely.

'Welcome to the Walk Alone' Is Out!
13/7/2009

Nearly a year after we first announced our intention to record a second album, and to enlist the production skills of Mark Ronson, we finally have a distilled half-hour of Rumble Delight for you to savour.

It happened like this: We started in London with some songs. We took them to New York and put them on tape; then we took them back to London to add some ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahs’. Next we flew them to Prague and squeezed lots of orchestra into them, then sent them back to New York to be mixed. Finally we put them on a CD and put the CD into a beautiful package, which you can buy online or in a record shop.

If you want a slightly more in-depth and visual explanation of how it all happened, take a look at this short film we made for Channel 4. Enjoy the record!

Kind regards,

Henry Rumble.

The Rumble Strips To Record A Session For Zane Lowe
7/7/2009

On July 21st The Rumble Strips will be heading into the BBC studios to record a session for Zane Lowe.

The session comes just one week after the release of the band's new album, 'Welcome To The Walk Alone', on July 13th.

Zane has previously said of the record: "An evolution, almost a Phil Spector-ish Wall of Sound. We’re completely blown away."

Zane's show is broadcast between 7pm-9pm, click here for more details.
